Back at the glacier lagoon, I was able to catch a rare autumn boat tour with several other tourists. It was an amazing experience, being able to see the icebergs up close, and discover spectacular ice formations hidden from the shore. View some of the highlights below. I visited the famous glacier lagoon in SE Iceland, where an expansive glacier coming down from the mountains dispenses icebergs into the "sea" (salt-water lagoon). It is one of the most surreal places on earth. I found out that parts of a James Bond movie was filmed here as well (when they closed the entrance to the sea, and froze part of the water in the lagoon). Anyways, here are some exciting photos taken from the shores of glacier lagoon.
